LOL!

I come from SE london, not quite cockney, but hey. This piece made me laugh, i was expecting something more upbeat though. The banjo was er....random, but funny. Love it!! Have you ever heard Bill Baileys cockney medley? It's friggin hilarious!

Grumbleduke responds:

Bill Bailey's Cockney Influences in Classical Music? It had me laughing Moonlight Sonata's pearly intro! I know it's not quite cockney, but I do picture (you should understand my logic) Steptoe and Son, therefore Vic and Bob's cockney walkabout dance. Hence my naming. I come from SE London too!

Nice

Very relaxing, especially as it's so early in the morning. The way each instrument was introduced in turn developed the song nicely, building layers of emotion. I do agree with WinTang, some diversity in the harp would have made it better, but none the less, brilliant piece, keep it up. Be sure to review some of mine :)

coooool

Hahaha, woahh, the intro sounds like one of my songs. This one is one of my fave's, sounds much better recorded than the other ones (no offence, they still kicked ass lol!) Love the solo, it's nutty! Keep it up!!

Bad-Man-Incorporated responds:

Haha, thanks man, glad you like it. My soloing sucks, so...thanks for the kind words!hahaha.\m/

woahh

Woah!! The next Hetfield much?!? Haha, this track rocks, just my kinda shit. Gotta love the hard hitting riffs! Just wondering if there is any bass in it, cause it's kinda got a bit lost in the mix. And about that collab, i'd love to do one man!!!

Bad-Man-Incorporated responds:

Thanks alot man! No bass in this that I know of, just Pitchblak's badass guitar. I tried to bass it up in the mix..helped a little. Look forward to workin with you, man!\m/

...lol!

Lol!! I hate this song...and this kind of music...so im loving your remake!!! Nicely recorded btw. love it, lol, keep it up!! Creative lyrics...

Wow...

That was really kind of beautiful. What kind of program do you use for your orchestra sounds? It's kind of hypnotizing, I like the keys playing over the low, slow strings, gave it a kind of ethereal sense to it, and the brass melody added a sense of sadness. Basically, loved it! :D

MilkMan-Dan responds:

All done with one... solitary... Yamaha DGX-305 Keyboard... nothing more... nothing less :). Thanks for enjoying it :).

cool...

Wow...this is really nice, a marked improvement over your earlier work. And especially now you've ditched MIDI *crowd cheers* I like the change of moods from calm and epic...to sense of suspense with the fast paced pizzicato strings. What program you using now? sounds good. Except...are those gaps in the strings meant to be there? Sorry to nit pick at all your work, lol. It's really good though. Im voting 5 ^-^

Scarlatti responds:

Thank you, much. It's good to nitpick. I'm using Sibelius 3, with the Kontakt player. The player does not come with any solo strings, which explains why I haven't written any quartets recently. But I find the strings heavenly and the choir very good when adjusted to a lower level of brightness. It's all very good, to be honest, except the solo male voice. The gaps in the strings are indeed meant to be there. I admit they are not entirely necessary in certain places, but I think at least one of them is very important. I'm working at the continuity thing. Studying counterpoint and whatnot. Anyway: much too late for me to be awake. Damn, I have to get up in about four hours. Thanks for voting five.

Sad

Man that had me reaching for the tissues (not in the sick way..you pervs) I liked the general feel of the guitar and the flute, they work well together, and the subtle strings in the background. It could have benefitted from better mixing, so maybe send your files to someone to mix in future. And maybe read up on some looping tutorials, there's a bit of a skip. Other than that, twas real nice.

SuperTonic64 responds:

...I can actually send my stuff to people who can mix it for me? :O (I really had no clue... I've always done it myself. :P)

As you can tell, I'm a horrible looper, but the only way to get it right is to try. I'll start reading up on looping tutorials, so my next repeating submissions won't skip. ;)

Thanks for the review! ^_^ *blows nose on a tissue* *has a cold though :P*

Coolbeans

I think its safe to say I thoroughly enjoyed this. Im currently working on a few projects similar to this, though I haven't posted any of my classical work on newground (on fear of total blammage) I may do soon. I like the graceful, yet epic feel of this peace, it gave me a feeling of general well being :P One small point, i've got a feeling you're using a program like Edirol HQ orchestral, or something similar, and you seem to have gone overboard with the reverb, go to the settings and turn it down a bit. And also you may wanna replace the piano soundfont, the one that comes with orchestral is just plain nasty. other than that, that is one kickass classical jammage...lol.

SuperTonic64 responds:

You should try submitting some songs! Even if you get blammed for it, it helps to learn how to do it better.

I don't use Edirol though! :D I use Finale along with FLstudio in order to write. :D

The piano was really low for what I wrote. I wanted a very low, almost even a meanicing sound.

But I will tone down the reverb, since it seems to be very annoying at some points in the song. :D

Thanks for your review! :)

wow...

Well..what can I say..this is just amazing. Im in awe. You've achieved everything I want to achieve. The song is very spectacular, the orchestra sound is very lush and expressive, I am trying to capture this sound in my own work as I am training as an audio engineer/composer myself. I love the sound of epic strings, and i've thoroughly enjoyed your K+K series. But I can't quite get the formula right in my own work. I hear you use Giga Studio and Sonar. What other hardware do you have? Because gigastudio takes up a bitch load of memory. keep writing that music!
